November's Stich Fix was a bust

If that title doesn't make you want to read this post, I don't know what will! ;)

After learning that I could sneak a peek at my box before it arrived from a few fellow bloggers, I couldn't help myself and immediately got disappointed. It's like when you find a present before someone gives it to you, and you don't like it. You don't even want to go through the process of receiving it and pretending you're excited.

Anyways, my box arrived on Tuesday afternoon, and it sat, unopened, until Wednesday morning. When I was getting dressed, I decided to open it to see if maybe something would look better in person than it did online, and I could snag a new outfit out of the pieces. Blech...I threw it all back in the box and decided to really try them on that night.

Wednesday night came, and I still had no interest in looking, so this morning, I finally tried everything on as an outfit and decided to keep one piece, only because I had already spent the $25. If I didn't have any money invested, all five pieces would have gone back.

I wrote in my note that we are going to a casino this weekend for a trip that Chad earned through work. I asked for a fun dress or cute top to wear with skinny jeans...I didn't get anything I can wear, and now I actually have to really go shopping before Saturday!

So, here's what came in my box:

Level 99 Kris Skinny Jeans: $108
RETURNED
Okay, I am not against spending money on good jeans, bras or shoes, but these jeans were so thin, that there's no way I could wear them in the winter, unless they were under my snow pants. They were comfy, because they're stretchy, but they remind me of the pixie pants I got at ON for $18. AND, they're navy blue...not jean blue and not black...awkward color that I couldn't justify keeping.

Yes, I stole this picture from Ramblings of a Southern Mom because, let's be honest, dark skinny jeans all look the same in pictures.

Paradigma Euston V-Neck Blouse: $68
RETURNED
This print of this blouse turned me off as soon as I saw it, but I thought maybe I would love it once I put it on. WRONG. All wrong.

No, this picture is not blurry....the print just makes you dizzy!

THML Jaylie Cowl Neck Colorblocked Poncho: $88
RETURNED
I love ponchos. I may have too many, and I would buy another one, if I liked it. This one was too boxy and unflattering to keep, especially for $88! I tried it with a few shirts underneath, and it just didn't work. Bummer, because ponchos are my jam right now.

RD Style Johanna Side Split Sweater: $78
KEPT
When I saw "side split sweater," I got a little excited. I like the longer sweaters with a little slit, but this slit goes to my ARMPIT. I feel like I am walking around naked when I wear it, so it will definitely be saved for non-work events with a black top underneath. I am hoping that once I actually wear it somewhere, I will love it. I am also hoping that the front flap doesn't blow away and get caught on something, because I can totally see that happening.

See how high the slit goes?

The accessory they sent was a leopard infinity scarf. PASS. I have about 239847298 of those... :)

Have any of you gotten any of these pieces? I hate that I didn't like any of them and am really hoping to fall in love with the sweater that I kept! I am going to try them again, in January and hope for some fun new pieces!

  1. What a bummer! I definitely wouldn't spend that much on jeans that weren't the right color and are so thin. Not worth it!! And I agree, I'll spend money on jeans if they are comfy and cute. I like the sweater. It's really cute!

  3. I accidentally tried on a side split shirt the other day and I feel like I would have LOVED it when I was 19. Post child, it was terrifying. I do have some Level 99 jeans that are okay and not too thin - may just be that style. Mine were $1 at the thrift shop though. I wouln't have paid $100 for them.

  4. Such a bummer. Cute sweater, but I see what you mean with the side split. I think it would be super cute with skinny jeans and a statement necklace.

  5. Bummer! I got one of those side split sweaters in my box too (different brand/color) and it was a little weird, but at least it wasn't clingy! haha
