Foxwoods: Cinnamon knots, bubbly and penny slots

Chad earned yet another trip from work (Thanks for working so hard, babe!), and we headed to Foxwoods for an adult evening of dinner, wine and gambling on Saturday. I focused more on the first two, but being in a casino wasn't too boring! ;)

(I am not thankful that it's Monday, but I am thankful that our weekends of traveling are over for awhile. I love to get away (especially without kids for a night), but I feel so behind and am looking forward to being HOME to get some stuff done.)

Our trip started off with free cinnamon knots from the owners of J&M Subs, after stopping there for a lunch on our way to Foxwoods. I was going to just "try" one, until I tried one, ate four and licked the frosting off the container.

I haven't "pregamed" in awhile, but doing it with champagne seemed much classier than Aristocrat vodka, circa 2002!

Pre-dinner selfie...I love how forgiving black and white pictures are!

This is what happens when you ask your husband to take an awkward solo picture at dinner...do you have any questions why I married him?! :)

Our group after dinner...clearly, we need to work on getting the tall-eys in the back row!

I think I was asleep by 11, but that doesn't mean I didn't have fun. It just means that I mixed champagne, vodka and wine, lost $40 on penny slots and stayed up way past my bedtime. #lame

Meanwhile, back home, Cam and Louise were getting spoiled by LouLou...

Someone got a new outfit from LouLou!

This may look sweet and innocent, but I think he was trying to drown her in leaves.

Making his list for Santa, which included anything with a sword or gun. Sorry, buddy, but you're getting nothing like that...Santa's done shopping!

It was a fun weekend and SO nice to get away and spend some time with Chad and adults without having to worry about a crying baby or waking up at 3:00 am for a feeding, although my internal clock woke me up at 3 and 5 before falling back asleep! However, coming home to your little people takes the cake, every time!

Happy Monday!

  3. I'll take a pan of those cinnamon knots. And pre-gaming with champy sounds heavenly - as does a nice little, kid-less, weekend.
