Louise James: 2 Years

Holy moly, how did we get here? The days can be long, but man, the years are flying by! You have quickly turned into a little person instead of a baby. I love it and hate it at the same time.

Height // 32"
Weight // 26 lb
Clothes // 24 months/2T
Diapers // size 5
Shoes // size 5 wide
Teeth // All plus a couple (?) two-year molars

Eating //
You are a very good eater, lady! You want to try everything we have and luckily, you like most of it! You devour chicken pot pie on a weekly basis, everything bagels and cream cheese are on regular rotation, and you really love everything hummus with crackers! Your favorites for dinner are meatballs, chicken tenders, hot dogs and cheeseburgers. We made a chili casserole the other night, and you liked it OK. I have never tried too many foods with you, since your brother is so picky, but I am making it a point to be more adventurous. If you can dip it in ranch or ketchup, you'll eat it, no questions asked. We also have a love/hate relationship with cheese; you love it, but we hate what it does to you (see below). Yogurt, pb crackers, chewies, applesauce, and bars are always in the pantry.

Sleeping //
Thankfully, you are a MUCH better sleeper than you ever have been. You go down right at 7:00 and rarely make a peep before 6:30. Sometimes, you wake up, but a quick rock and you go back down. We dropped the bottle in February (We kept giving you one, to be sure you got your laxative...more on that later), but when I told you they went bye-bye, you didn't even blink an eye, and you actually sleep better than you did when you were taking one. Before bed, you ask to "woc, woc, woc" until I sit down and rock you, while singing Rockabye Baby, You are my Sunshine and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, in that order. I put you down, close the door, and that's that. You still need your lovie and binkie and are sleeping on a pillow with a little blanket.

Playing //
You are kind of into baby dolls but you don't have one that you carry around. You love to "cook", read books and play with cars. At school, the light table always gets your attention. Being outside is your favorite - the playground, chalk, pushing toys, anything really. You ALWAYS try to keep up with your brother, and you're not half bad! ;)

We started swim lessons, and you HATED them because you hate the water, but after the first class, you loved it! We are taking the summer off and will start again in the fall. We will probably throw in a gymnastics or dance class, too!

Talking //
I should say "singing" and "mimicking" because those two things are pretty much all that comes out of your mouth! If we say something, you repeat it. If a song comes on, you sing it. Your favorite song is Twinkle Twinkle Little Star that sounds something like "TWINKle, TWINKle, STAHHH"It's amazing. You also sing Wheels on the Bus with your arms going round and round, You are my Sunshine and Old McDonald. You know quite a few songs on the radio, although there are no words with your sounds...Cam thinks it's pretty amusing to listen to you while we drive.

You are talking a lot though. Some of your favorite words are: bruthah, sock, mah (more), wah wah, djeez (cheese), peedza (pizza), boat, airplane - you have a very unique way of talking, and I love it. I hope you keep your raspy voice forever! You know when you have "two" of something - lovies, pacies, socks, etc....and you always ask where something is by saying "________ go?" It's usually "bruthah go?"

You are starting to form some 3-4 word sentences, which is amazing to hear. You can ask questions that we usually understand, so the frustration level is going down...except that you're quite impatient, so as soon as you ask for something, you repeat it until you get it.

Personality //
When they say boys and girls are totally different, "they" are so right! You know what you want, and you've developed some interesting ways to tell us! You scream, you pout, you stomp...you are sassy!

You love pockets.

You want to wear what you want to wear, and there's no changing your mind.

You draw on anything, including yourself.

School //
You  moved into the Toddler Room in January, and you are napping like a champ! You go down on your nap mat, go to sleep then stay quiet, if you wake up before everyone else. In the morning, you walk right in, wash your hands and see who's there. You love Hadley and her flashy clothes, Nora, of course, and all of your teachers! You rarely have a tough time when I leave but never a big issue.

Health //
You are pretty healthy, girl. A little cold here, a stuffy nose and cough there, but (fingers crossed), you are doing great! Your left foot is still slightly crooked...the foot doctor says that some light stretching will correct it, but I'm not convinced. I had to have surgery when I was your age, so I am guessing you inherited it from me. Sorry 'bout that. We go back to the foot doctor in July.

You stopped laxatives in February, but we still watch what you eat because we can tell when you have eaten too much cheese and not enough fiber.

Adventures //
We celebrated Christmas and Peyton and Mica came for two weeks!

We watched the Patriots win the Super Bowl!!

We flew to Florida for February vacation, too! You were great on the airplane and sang Twinkle Twinkle Little Star the whole way down...I loved it, but I am not sure the other people on the plane did. You loved the beach and ate more sand than I could have imagined. We got stuck in the last row, on the way home, but you ended up loving the noise and sleeping the entire time!

We celebrated Easter with the whole fam!

You've been fairly easy-going, following Cam to martial arts and t-ball. I can't wait to get you into something for you - dance, martial arts (basically dancing with arms), gymnastics...you're eager to move!

You and Jada will forever be following your brothers to their events! At least you have each other. ;)

You and Cam are BEST FRIENDS. You do everything he does: you sit like him, you walk like him, you play with whatever he's playing. And he loves every second of it! You are finally big enough to be wrestled with a little, and he takes full advantage. :)

I love you to PIECES, little girl. You are wild, shy, sweet, funny (SO FUNNY), sassy, smart, observant and my favorite girl in the whole world. You have completed our family, and I am forever thankful for you! I can't wait to spend the summer with you and watch you grow into an independent girl - you will break hearts and changes lives someday.

Louise James: 18 Months

My sweet, 2nd child....I am living up to the stereotype of #secondchildproblems, and I'm sorry. But to be fair, I haven't done an update on Cameron since he turned 4, so we'll call it a wash...

Clothes //18 month
Shoes // size 4/5
Diapers // size 4

You are eating a little better...you are in a phase where you want to be held, but we will only let you eat while you're sitting, so that's interesting. You still love meatballs and chicken tossed in bbq sauce, anything dipped in ranch or ketchup, mac and cheese, yogurt, applesauce, and pirate booty.

Oh, you...my little light sleeper! You are napping better at day care, which is great! You go right down at 7 and usually sleep until almost 7! BUT, when you wake up, you want to be fed, held or just want to come down and sit on the couch with us. I do love the snuggles, but I also love when you sleep through the night. :) You nap around 12/1230 and stay down for 1 - 3 hours depending on where you are...You are still sleeping with your paci and lovies. You don't go anywhere without those two things!

You still love to stack things and put stuff in things....cups, boxes, bags, etc...in and out things go all the time. If my purse is open, all of the contents get taken out then put back back. You love the pop up toys at day care and loving shape sorters. You are definitely going to be organized like me! You love anything that makes noise or moves. Cam has a walking dinosaur that you love to imitate...it's hilarious! You love to throw balls, play with buttons and steal anything you're not supposed to have, like phones, remote controls and chargers.

You are starting to form more and more words. You "talk" a lot, but you only say uh oh, uppie, bubba, binkie, bye, hi, wawa and ball. You love to make animal noises, although dogs, birds and pigs all sound strangely similar.

You are literally running all over the place now! You started walking in the middle of August, and you haven't stopped. I love it!! We chase each other. You chase Cam. Cam tackles you. It' amazing.

You actually listen really well, except when we say no! If you take something off a shelf at a store, you put it right back when I tell you to. You are very good at putting things where we say, but if we tell you no, you laugh and keep doing it. If we tell you no and Cameron isn't laughing, you know we are serious. But you still laugh after a few seconds of silence.

You LOVE to dance...you shake your hips side to side, bend your knees to drop it low, move your entire arms around and around...you are a killer dancer. ;)

You wrinkle your nose when you drink your sippy cup, and I literally just stare at you when you do.

You and Cameron are BFFs, and it's adorable. You rarely sit still, but if he's on the couch watching a show, you'll sit right next to him and cuddle in...for a few minutes. You don't want to share him (or anyone), though...if he is sitting on my lap, you throw a fit. If Daddy's arm is touching me, you throw it off. Seriously. I know you love me, but geez! ;)

You are still in the "infant" room until January, when you will sleep on a nap mat (no more crib!), eat a table (which you started doing already) and have one nap - I hope you nap better for them than you do for the Meggies! Your favorite buddies are Nora and Jada, with Ryan up there, too!

How they keep you from getting up while you're eating!

School Picture 2016 <3

You have had a few bumps along the way, little peach. You are still having issues going #2, so your new doctor send you for an x-ray to see if you are constipated or if you have another issue. Sure enough, you're constipated. After a 3-day laxative diet, you're as regular as the sun comes up, but we still put some laxative in your bottle at night, just to keep things moving. You also spent about six hours in the hospital with a 105 fever, but it went away after some double doses of tylenol and ibuprofen.

tummy x-rays

spending the night in the hospital (one of the few times you really cuddled with me!)

Well, we've had a lot of adventures since July! We rented a lake house with Uncle Jim and Aunt Tanya, visited Storyland, we drove to Virginia and back to visit Grandma Scott, and we celebrated Halloween and Thanksgiving!

Weezy Pie, you are seriously the sweetest little thing I've ever seen in my life. Your cheeks and your eyes just kill me! You're so so different than Cam, and I love every bit of it. I cannot wait to continue to watch you grow, little girl.
